No hay necesidad en esta casa que no se puede ver cubierta por esta crafty máma! Aqui unos ejemplos de cómo combinar telas bonitas con ideas practicas y así hacer la vida diaria un poco más happy!
So, my eldest started taking his lunch to university, and he obviously needed something fun to carry it in! I basically copied the shape of a paper bag, calculating the bottom in correspondence to our tupperware. I also lined the inside with fabric reinforced with plastic adhesive to make it waterproof. Added a velcro strip for closure. The Robert Kaufman "Explore America" fabric that I had bought from equilter.com, made for a great end result!
Mi hijo mayor ha empezado a llevar su comida a la universidad, así que claramente necesitaba algo divertido en qué meterla! Así que básicamente he copiado el patrón de una bolsa de papel, calculando la base para que entre el tupper. Además forré el interior con tela plastificada. Y añadí una tira de velcro para cerrar. La tela "Explore America" de Robert Kaufman que tenia comprada de equilter.com, hizo que el resultado fuera excepcional!
Bueno, y qué es eso? Pues es un dispensador de papel de baño para los rios de mocos que mis hijos producen en invierno 😉 Había comprado uno de la pagina de Marie Claire, hace unos años, pero ya se estropeó y he decidido hacer el mio propio. Patrón de periódico para las medidas del rollo, dejar agujero en la parte de arriba y poner cremallera en al parte de abajo para reponer el papel. Super util!
OK, this is a funny story. This is an actual mail bag, in which all of my stuff arrived home from Paris, where I had spent my junior year in college (about two centuries ago). I don´t know if I, or my mom decided to save it at the moment, but I always thought I would make something with it. And the other day when my kids´ friends were over and there was not enough sitting space, I decided I could make it into a pouf. I was surprised to find out that you can buy the filling online, but was even more surprised when it arrived loose in a beaten up box! What a disaster, we have been picking up tiny balls for a week now. But the pouf looks nice! I sewed up an old sheet and filled that up before putting it in the bag, and finally I tied the top with ribbon in the French flag colors. Voilá!
Esta es una historia curiosa. Este es una bolsa de correos de verdad, en ella llegaron mis cosas desde París, después de hacer allí mi tercer año de la universidad (hace un par de siglos). No me acuerdo si fui yo o mi madre quien decidió guardarla en el momento, pero siempre pensaba hacer algo con ella. Y cuando el otro día no había suficiente sitio para sentar los amigos de mis hijos que vinieron a casa, decidí hacer un puff. Fue una sorpresa descubrir que podia comprar el relleno online pero mayor fue mi sorpresa cuando llegó suelto en una caja rota! Qué desastre, todavía estamos recogiendo bolitas! Pero el puff ha quedado genial. Cosí una vieja sabana y la rellené antes de meterla en el saco. Terminado con lazos en los colores de la bandera francesa. Voilá!
And last but least, here are the two pillow cases I made with the fabric by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society that I got on my last visit to London. These little balloon doggies make us happy every time we get into bed!
Y por ultimo, aqui están las dos fundas de almohada que hice con la tela de Rashida Coleman-Hale para Ruby Star Society que compré en mi ultima visita a Londres. Estos globos perillos nos hacen felices cada vez que entramos en la cama!
