Summer fashion 2019

So, end of May beginning of June I usually start having ideas for summer clothing to make. Why then? Who knows. Probably because the weather starts changing and the summer collections hit the stores, I buy one thing, get inspired to make another!

Asi que finales de mayo, principios de junio es cuando me empiezan a ocurrir ideas para modelitos a coser. Porqué entonces? No lo sé. Probablemente porque es cuando el tiempo empieza a a cambiar y las colecciones de verano aparecen en las tiendas. Me compro una cosa y me sirve de inspiración para hacer otra!
 

So here for example I was inspired by a top I bought at Zara which was just that, two squares united diagonally. I love bandanas, so it was a no brainer. Take two bandanas, saw them half way up on the side, fold around a strap, front and back. There you have it!

Así que, por ejemplo, para esto me inspiré en un top que compré en Zara, que era justo esto, dos cuadrados unidos a la diagonal. Me encantan las bandanas, así que ni corta, ni perezosa, uní dos, las cosí hasta la mitad por los lados, doblé el cuello delante y atrás alrededor de una tira hecha tirantes, y ya está. 

And this was a white linen skirt from Marks and Spenser that I upcycled after a few years of use. I tie-dyed it in "Greek" blue, a natural stone necklace to match, and there you go, a simple outfit, totally on trend 💙Check out previous posts for simple tie-dyeing technique:

Vichy check fabric is also very in fashion this year. I made a short dress last year ( Summer fashion 2018 ) and this year I found a pattern in Burda Easy for a wrap skirt ! I think it turned out really fun 😄

Las telas Vichy también están muy de moda este año. El año pasado hice un vestido corto ( lo puedes encontrar en el link aqui arriba) y este año encontré un patrón de Burda Easy para esta falda. Creo que ha salido muy divertida!

And finally this is just an excuse to use this Kaffe Fasset wonderful fabric, Marga gave us this pattern, and it is pretty simple to make. A short kimono you can wear over jeans or as a beach coverup or even a robe.

Por último esto es una buena excusa para utilizar esta tela maravillosa de Kaffe Fasset. Marga nos pasó el patrón y es bastante sencillo de hacer. Un kimono corto para llevar encima de vaqueros o a la playa o como bata de verano.
