Le Lotus Bleu

So, I had this really boring IKEA table I had bought for some other purpose in our other house, and it has been begging for a makeover for a while. It sat in our so called Game Room and I was thinking of painting some flowers and such on it, until inspiration hit me a couple of weeks ago. 

Así que tenia una mesita de IKEA, super aburrida, comprada para otra cosa, en nuestra otra casa y que llevaba pidiendo un cambio de imagen a gritos hace tiempo. La tengo en nuestro denominado Game Room y pensaba pintarle alguna florecita o algo hasta que tuve una inspiración hace un par de semanas.

I used to love Tintin when I was little and so I had two posters framed for this room. I realized the dragon from The Blue Lotus cover would look great swirling down the three tiers of the table. My sons didn´t think I could make a convincing rendition of the dragon, but I was optimistic....

Me encantaba Tintin cuando era pequeña, así que enmarqué dos póster para este cuarto. Me pareció que el dragón de la portada de El Loto Azul quedaría genial dando vueltas por los tres niveles de la mesa. Mis hijos dudaban que lo podría reproducir pero yo me encontraba optimista...

It took me two weekends, having to let the paint dry in between coats.

Tardé dos fines de semana ya que tenia que ir dejando las capas de pintura secarse entremedias.

 

But I did it. Even the kids thought it didnt come out that bad, haha.

Pero lo conseguí. Hasta a los chicos no les pareció ni medio mal, jeje.

Ta-dan!!!!!
