Case it
When you sew you cannot help but put fabric on everything. Here are some of the cases, or covers, I have made: for glasses, for my kid´s kindle, for my laptop, or my sewing machine.....
Cuando una cose, la tentacion es de entelarlo todo. Yo voy por rachas y por tematicas , luego se me pasa, hasta la proxima vez que me entra la inspiracion. Aqui os presento fundas de todo tipo. Para la maquina de coser, para las gafas, para las tarjetas, para el kindle o el ordenador....
I had a collection of orange and turquoise french fabric that came in really handy when I decided my new laptop (which of course I bought in what I call "greek" blue, haha) needed a case. I had come up before with the idea of an office envelope design (see below) and I also had a couple of glass buttons I had bought in Venice, which just happened to match. Add a piece of blue leather string and the result is a very chic laptop cover!
Tenia unas telas francesas en turquesa y naranja que me vinieron fenomenal cuando decidí que mi nuevo portatil necesitaba una funda. Ya se me habia ocurrido el diseño de sobre de oficina antes ( ver más abajo) y además tenía dos botones de cristal que habia comprado en Venecia a juego. Un trozo de cordon azul y el resultado una funda muy chic!
This I made for Nicolas a couple of year ago for his Kindle Fire (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). The choice of fabric must have been pretty good as he still uses it. I had a button clasp inserted at the local shoe repair shop, for a professional finish.
Esta funda la hice para el Kindle Fire de Nicolás, apropiadamente con una funda con dibujo de fuego :) Me pusieron un corchete de boton en la zapateria para un acabado profesional.
One of the first things I made in my sewing class was this sewing machine cover that I still love as much as I did on the day I made it. It´s a technique called "crazy", a variation of the log cabin and the central fabric shows houses with their quilts hanging on the fence. Like I said, I love it!
Una de las primeras cosas que hice en mi clase de Patchwork y que me enseñó Marga fue esta funda para mi maquina de coser que me sigue encantando como el primer dia. Es una técnica de log cabin llamada "crazy" por tener las medidas libres y la tira central es de casitas con sus quilts colgados :)
And finally this is the first fabric "envelope" I made to keep my projects in, made to showcase the lovely sewing patterns of the material.
Y por último este es el primer "sobre" de tela que hice para guardar mis proyectos, diseñado para lucir las telas con motivos de costura.

Of course I couldn´t possibly be without my very own designed accessory cases, so here is a denim-velvet-ribbon-trimmed-with-a- fabric-covered-button-pin case for my shades and an oh-so-cute-jelly-bean-fabric-with-a-red-zipper-mini carry all, that I use as a card holder.
Y claro, como no podia estar sin mis propios diseños de fundas de accesorios, aqui van una funda para las gafas, echa de tela vaquera, terminada con una cinta de terciopelo y un botón forrado de tela, además de un mini bolsito con cremallera que utilizo como tarjetero.
