J´adore

Went to Lyon, France two weekends ago, sharing my unabashed francophilia (and no, that´s not a dirty word) with my children, who at least both already speak French. Lovely city, though we had terrible weather - part of the french charme, I guess? Rivers (two of them) with beautiful bridges,  charming bouchons where we had everything from escargots to crêpes, plus beaucoup de wine and of course orangina. It seems trottinettes (scooters) are all the rage in Lyon no matter what your age, and we visited the Cinema Museum with original miniature settings used in movies and Les Halles de Lyon- Paul Bocuse, the market place dedicated to the father of nouvelle cuisine. Also caught the spring window of (appropriately) Printemps! Magnifique all around, perfect for a weekend visit. Got lots of ideas for projects I will be sure to share....

Estuvimos en Lyon hace un par de semanas, quise compartir mi pasión por lo francés con mes enfants, que por lo menos he conseguido que hablen francés, los dos. A pesar del tiempo horrible, la cuidad nos pareció preciosa: rios, puentes, bouchons para degustar caracoles y crepes, vin un montón y mi favorito personal: orangina. Parece que todo el mundo va en trottinette (patinete), independientemente de edad y condiciones meteorológicas, estuvimos en el Museo del Cine, muy original y al mercado con el nombre de Paul Bocuse, padre de la nouvelle cuisine. También el escaparate de Printemps me pareció genial. Magnifique, muy recomendable para un fin de semana.  He vuelto con un montón de ideas para proyectos....

 

                            

 

 
 

And being in a french mood, I want to share the music of Zaz, incredible singer. She became famous with Je veux and last year made an amazing record named Paris.  I could´t decide between the two songs so here are both of them... Je veux, happy, happy, happy as it gets and Sous le ciel de Paris, an Edith Piaf song, gorgeous voice and cool video. Pour vous!....

Y estando en un ánimo francés, quiero compartir la musica de Zaz, una cantante increible.  Se hizo famosa por 2010 con Je veux y el año pasado sacó un disco precioso dedicado a Paris.  No podía elegir entre las dos canciones así que allí van las dos. Je veux es un chute de felicidad y Sous le ciel de Paris, la cancion de Edith Piaf, da a relucir su voz y el video es muy original.
