All about bags

Tengo un vicio, y se llaman bolsos... ya era malo que me los compraba pero desde que además me los puedo hacer, la cosa se ha complicado...

Aquí está una muestra de los que he hecho en los últimos tiempos, normalmente inspirada a alguna tela especifica....

Here´s the thing... I like bags.... It was bad enough when I just bought them, but since I can also make them, it is slightly out of control.  Here is a sample of what I have designed and made in the last few years, usually inspired by a specific fabric I happen to love...

Two versions of the same idea:

50´s fab, with a dry martini button included !

    

Couture fab, combined with animal prints, topped off with a black silk fringe

 (actual bag-making difficulty: zero)

Cut-out Dolls!!!

Made into a cute handbag with resin handles or 

a  roomy tote with used-jeans scraps serving as bottom and handles

  

This is one of the first bags I ever made and one of my favorites,   All of us in my patchwork class have a version of it. And as if it didn´t have enough going on, I made and added a big old dragonfly!

Uno de los primeros bolsos que hice y uno de mis favoritos. Todas en mi clase de patch tenemos una versión de esta.  Y como si no tuviera suficiente triangulito y telita, le pegué además una libelula extragrande!

Another "patchworky" classic. Kaffe Fasset fabric, made with paper piecing. Gorgeous! 

Though it turned out a bit large...

Norman Rockwell se considera uno de los ilustradores/pintores más representativos de la cultura americana, son especialmente famosas sus ilustraciones de los años 40 para The Saturday Evening Post.  Cuando vi esta tela, la tuve que tener inmediatamente! La combiné con un vichy vintage azul y lunares en rojo por dentro para hacer este bolso tipo bandolera.

Those familiar with american culture will immediately recognize the Normal Rockwell illustrations.  I went crazy when I saw this fabric! I combined it with a vintage looking blue vichy square and red dot on the inside for a messenger bag. I think it´s very unique, makes me happy when I wear it.

It´s called The Gossips

This is yet another one I made because I just had to have that tattoo pattern fabric on me somehow!

I have seen the fold-over model done in leather bags and I tried it with this one, I like the result.

Este es otro bolso que he hecho porque buscaba una manera de llevar esta tela encima!  El modelo que se dobla lo había visto en bolsos de piel y creo que no ha quedado mal en tela.

Y estas muñecas rusas en rosita las he combinado con vaquero, incluido el bolsillo con aplicación

These pink dolls I combined once again with jeans, adding the whole pocket and putting an application on it.

Y una de mis ultimas creaciones es este clutch en negro con color sandia por dentro, y un precioso botón de cristal que había comprado en Praga.

And one of my latest creations is this clutch in black and watermelon.  The crystal button I had found and bought in Prague.

Like I said, I like bags...And if all else fails I could  be a bag designer!

Eso...Un vicio.  Y si por alguna casualidad me encuentro en un apuro , me podría dedicar a esto!
